The First Day of the Rest of Our Lives

I rushed through the grocery store this morning so that I could get home in time to watch the inauguration. I let the groceries sit in the car for 30 minutes (it was 20 deg out, I figured they'd be ok!) since I timed it a little close.

And I've gotten very little done today, since I've kept the TV on watching coverage. Inspiring, exciting, a little scary (waiting for the disaster, which so far is only Teddy Kennedy collapsing), and annoying when the talking heads just keep babbling. But it's so neat to see all those people, so excited, so inspired. I feel a spirit of hope that was missing before the election.

I thought his speech about personal sacrifice and responsibility was spot on appropriate.
